Battery McCorkle, also at Fort Moultrie - This is one of three such shield guns mounted in Battery McCorkle, These are 3-inch Model M1898 guns. Battery McCorkle was named for 1st Lieutenant Henry McCorkle of the 25th U.S. Infantry Regiment, killed in the Battle of El Caney in the Spanish–American War.
